Activated Alumina

Petrosadid: Activated Alumina

Activated alumina Is an organic substance with tremendous surface area and is a highly porous solid form of aluminum oxide also known as Al2O3 or alumina. Activated alumina has the ability to adsorb gases and liquids without changing its form. Activated alumina has many different applications. The activated alumina is often used to purify gas mixtures by the optional adsorption of molecules. one of the most significant application of activated alumina is being desiccant for the adsorption of water. Additionally, activated alumina also has catalyst applications and is commonly used in the Claus process for desulfurization of natural gas.
