Ammonia synthesis is a high energy consuming process. The ammonia synthesis process is an exothermic process, but in the terms of kinetic the rate of the reaction is low. In the absence of catalyst, the temperature should be increased up to 1000oC which lead to decomposition of NH3. Consequently, using catalyst is very critical to reduce the required energy.
