High-Pressure Synthesis process employ a catalyst consisting of Zn oxide and Cr oxide, which was employed at 25-35 MPa and 300-450°C.

Catalysts for Low-Pressure Synthesis contain CuO and ZnO with one or more stabilizing additives. Alumina, Cr oxide or mixed oxides of Zn and aluminum have been proved appropriate for this process.

Petrosadid offers a wide range of catalysts for methanol production.
